The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic lay fraternal organization established by Father Michael McGivney in 1882. The Knights of Columbus was formed to provide aid to immigrants by providing funeral benefits and some extra money for the family of the deceased. This tradition continues today with the Knights focused on serving both the Church and its families. The order’s works include disaster aid (both monetary and grassroots work), support of the National Shrine in Washington DC, the Pontifical Communications Council (including major telecasts from the Vatican(, and other social issues. If you think you would like to be part of such an organization, please contact: Vince Calderon, Grand Knight (661) 266-4814
